Teething?

Ah, yes the catch all diagnosis for when Lauren is inconsolable. Lauren is six months old and still no teeth! But over the past few months whenever Lauren is upset (i.e. screaming, crying, fussy, and just upset at the world) we have simply said, “it must be teething”. And yet, no teeth have arrived.
Truth is, we have no idea if Lauren is teething, but a combination of sleepless nights, crying and a frustrated, inconsolable little girl, have led us to believe that the tooth fairy is about to deliver two front teeth!

Problem is that she has no way of telling us what is bothering her, so she cries as if saying, “a _______ would make me feel better.” (Insert possibilities: squirt of infant Tylenol/more milk/hug & kiss/pony).

If she isn’t teething, what could it be?
